A little introduction
I'm Deborah. I'm 62 years old, and cooking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a home where dinner was made from scratch, recipes were shared around the family, and the kitchen was always the heart of the house.
As I got older, the way I wanted to eat started to change. I still wanted comforting, delicious food, but I also wanted meals with more protein that were simple enough to make on an ordinary day. No complicated recipes, no endless ingredient lists, and no spending hours in the kitchen.
So I started adapting the meals I already loved. More protein, everyday ingredients, simple steps, and recipes that could be ready in 30 minutes or less. Little by little, that collection grew into what I now share through Smartly Cooked.
These are the kinds of recipes I love making for myself, my family, and friends. Familiar food, made simpler, with plenty of flavor and without making cooking feel like work.
I'm not a chef or a nutritionist. I'm simply a 62-year-old woman who loves good food, has spent years in the kitchen, and wants to help make everyday cooking a little easier and more enjoyable for you.
